South Dakota Woman Suing BNSF for Fatal Accident
A South Dakota woman has filed a federal lawsuit against BNSF Railway over the death of her brother.
Lisa Campbell-John alleges that the railway was negligent in allowing snow and ice to build up at a crossing in Waubay in 2013.
Authorities say Jason Campbell’s vehicle slid into the path of a train.
He was unable to back off the tracks and was hit.
Campbell later died at a Fargo hospital.
His sister is seeking unspecified damages.
BNSF’s attorney declined to comment.
