Fargo South Student in Custody for Making Threats on Social Media

A student is in custody after making threats of violence on social media.

Last night, police received several calls from concerned parents after posts on social media threatened violence at Fargo South High School.

Police officers went to the suspect’s house where they discovered he did not have access to a weapon and did not intend to carry out his threat.

Police then took the suspect into custody.

“He did not have any intention of … going to Fargo South today and shooting.  We determined that he did not have access to any weapons … and as a result of the investigation we also determined that he was acting by himself,” says Fargo Police Deputy Chief Joe Anderson.

The suspect is being held at a juvenile facility and has been charged with terrorizing.

The name of the suspect has not been released and the investigation is still ongoing.

Classes were held at Fargo South today as normal.
