West Fargo Boy Hit by Car During School Commute
A 9–year–old boy was hit by a truck while riding his bike to school this morning in West Fargo.
Police responded to the call before 8 o’clock.
The child was biking west on 4th Avenue and crossing to 9th Street near City Hall.
The driver of the truck was turning north on 9th Street when he hit the child.
“Being aware is key,” said Officer Ryan Wuollet of the West Fargo Police Department. “Children are hard to see especially in the morning hours now that it’s getting darker. In the mornings, it creates more of a hazard.”
The driver was cited for failing to yield for a pedestrian.
The child was taken to the hospital with non–life–threatening injuries.
