Parent Finds Sewing Needle in Child’s Candy Bar in Beltrami County

A silver sewing needle was found in a “fun size” Almond Joy candy bar.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 700 block of Whisperwood Court in Grant Valley Township on Tuesday.

A parent reported finding the candy bar had been torn open lengthwise and a needle was inserted into the candy.

The parent said they took their child trick or treating at Walmart in Bemidji and in the Arrowhood Circle neighborhood.

Police remind parents to be diligent and inspect your child’s Halloween treats.
