Eventful First Weekend of November in Fargo
Fargo is kicking off the start of November with a weekend jam packed full of events.
It’s a busy weekend here in Fargo that could possibly stir up some traffic for some fans.
“Well I’d say if you’re coming to Scheels arena on Saturday night, plan to come early. Just with that many people coming to a sold out concert we want to make sure traffic flows smoothly,” says President of Scheels Arena and FargoForce, Jon Kram.
Tomorrow Fargo football fans may be attending the Bison game at the Fargodome in the afternoon while Country Music fans are headed to Alan Jackson concert at Scheels Arena Saturday night.
If you’re headed to the concert here are some hints to avoid heavy traffic.
“Best way is to head down veterans, why we say that is because the gps takes everyone down 32nd and so veterans it’s a little easier access right off of 94 and there’s a few other streets you can come in on,” says Jon.
Once the concert sold out, extra parking space was even added for the event.
“What we’ll be doing is parking around the newest addition plus our paved parking plus we have the whole field of gravel lot that we should be using. So we should have ample parking tomorrow night,” says Jon.
And as for the football game, fans have traffic concerns of their own.
“There’s always the people that are pushing the envelope as far as trying to get into the game at the last second and there’s a tendency to get really congested. And then at the end of the game it’s always a rat race trying to get out and get back to where your next destination would be,” says Bison Fan, Mitch Grimm.
Luckily, this isn’t the first football game of the season, and fans have constructed ways on how to beat the traffic.
“You just kind of have to pick your path of the least resistance that you’ve had good luck with in the past and kind of go with it,” says Mitch.
Nonetheless, the easiest way to get to both venues is to show up in early.
“Get here early, get here at 6. Buy some merchandise, you can enjoy some concession maybe a beverage so plan accordingly,” says Jon.
