Pipeline Protest Numbers Are Really Rising
The Dakota Access Oil Pipeline protest in Morton County seems to have no end in sight and the numbers are astounding.
416 arrests have been made in the county since August 10th.
Only 35 of those arrested are from North Dakota.
The vast majority of those arrested were people from out of state and come from 43 states, Washington D.C. and Canada.
An additional 18 arrests were made at the Capitol building on Thursday.
Morton County has received assistance from more than 1,200 people including officers from 24 counties in North Dakota and 8 states.
The cost to the county so far is $4.4 million.
Protesters are concerned the pipeline will damage water and native burial lands.
