Tough Election for North Dakota Democrats

It was a bad night for many Democrats in North Dakota.

Their state party chairwoman, Kylie Oversen, was defeated.

Republican Curt Kreun also defeated Senate Minority Leader Mac Schneider by 200 votes.

There will be a recount in the race between State Senator George B. Sinner and Jim Roers.

Roers is ahead by just 36 votes.

There was a bright spot for the party in north Fargo, political newcomer Merrill Piepkorn defeated longtime State Senator Tim Flakoll.

State Representive Blair Thorsen was defeated by Democrat Karla Rose Hanson.
