Emerging Prairie, Sen. Hoeven Talk Drone Progress in North Dakota

North Dakota continues to be a trailblazer in the development of drones.

Emerging Prairie, which is a company that focuses on connecting entrepreneurs, hosted a luncheon for developers, researchers and students.

North Dakota Senator John Hoeven talked about the need to work towards unmanned aerial systems in the state.

“We’re going to develop that here,” said Sen. Hoeven.  “At some point, we’re going to be doing that nationally and if we develop…if we get the authority to do that here, then all the aerospace technologies are going to want to come here aren’t they?”

Hoeven added that he will continue his efforts to gain approval on the use of beyond line of sight operations at the Northern Plains Test Site.
