NDSU Bison Back to the Daily Grind

After going 10-1 in the regular season, North Dakota State’s football team earned a break.

The Bison finally had a weekend off as they enjoyed their first–round bye, and as KVRR Sports anchor Keith Albertson reports, now they are back to the daily grind.

NDSU had not had a Saturday off since September.

In eight consecutive weeks of football, the Herd lost just one game.

But even with their momentum, taking some time off was just what the doctor ordered.

Head Coach Chris Klieman says this break gave his team a chance to recover and enjoy the holiday.

And even though football was on all of the players’ minds as they awaited results from Saturday’s playoff games, Klieman says it was great to take things easy for the first time in a while.

“I think the guys are refreshed probably as much mentally as anything,” said Coach. “Just the grind of a season…to be able to get away for a few days is good. It’s difficult. That’s a difficult time for guys to keep their bodies fresh and do it nonstop from the end of July through Christmas for sure.”

NDSU will be tested by San Diego’s impressive rush defense.

In Sports, you can hear from Coach as he lays out his plan to defeat it.
