Fargo Public Works: Plowing, Salting, Sanding and Now…Shoveling
Snow plows are not the only way to clear snow.
Fargo Public Works has crews shoveling sidewalks as well.
City officials say private property owners must remove snow from adjacent sidewalks by 9:00 p.m. the day after every snowfall.
Anyone who doesn’t clear their sidewalks of snow and ice could be fined.
You can call Fargo Public Works for additional help but the city will bill you for the work.
“It’s based on the season,” said Fargo Public Works Service Manager Mark Williams. “You know, last year we got around 300 phone calls. When we had a tougher winter, it was around 600. So it kind of fluctuates based on how much snow is coming in that year.”
Make sure you don’t push your snow into the city streets.
You could be fined up to $500 for doing so.
