Senior Bison Players Take on Game Day, Graduation
For some members of the Bison football team, Friday is big on…and off the field.
Four NDSU seniors will walk at graduation before battling James Madison, according to KVRR Sports Director Mike McCann.
Coach Chris Klieman says that King Frazier, James Fisher, Eric Perkins and Landon Lechler will all stroll across the stage to receive their diplomas and then take the field.
Now obviously, that’s not the whole senior class…just the guys that are walking early.
They’ve all contributed to NDSU’s success.
Frazier, the star tailback running behind Lechler on the o-line.
Perkins, in the return game, and Fisher, the long snapper.
Lechler says with such an important day, it may be difficult to keep the emotions under control, but he’s learned from the success of those before him.
“It’ll be tough because I’ll have a lot of family in town and stuff like that, seeing them there,” he explained. “But you just can’t get wrapped up in that. You’ve got to stay focused on the task at hand and controlling what you can control. I watched past teammates do it with Joe Hague and Levon Perry and Billy Turner and stuff like that. So we all got to see it through the years and now it’s our turn to take care of business.”
Should be a big day.
All four of this year’s graduates have developed incredibly over the course of their careers.
