Lincoln Elementary Is In The Holiday Spirit
Kindergartners at Lincoln Elementary had a messy but fun learning lesson while building gingerbread houses.
Parents of the kindergartners were invited to help the students create their holiday houses.
Each pair was given graham crackers, gum drops and tons of white frosting.
While creating their masterpieces they practiced math concepts such as shape recognition, patterning and counting.
“It’s really fun just to walk around and see what they’re doing and to see the moms and the dads and the grandmas and the grandpas helping them build it and everyone seems to be excited and have a good time,” said kindergarten teacher Tammy Nelson.
The Gingerbread House decorating schedule was split into four different shifts in each classroom.
