Salvation Army Beats Red Kettle Goal of $900,000
The Salvation Army thanked the FM area for helping beat their Red Kettle goal
You helped the Salvation Army reach its annual Red Kettle fundraising goal in the metro.
They raised $904,678, beating the goal of $900,000.
Majors Elaine and Byron Medlock say they plan on retiring in May of 2018.
They say a goal of raising $1 million next winter would be a great way to go out with a bang.
“It’s been a good year and we’re looking forward to doing a lot of good things this year,” said Major Medlock. “And of course, Christmas will be here in about… 11 more months?” he added with a laugh.
Medlock says they got several gold coins this year but do not know exactly how much of the total came from them.
