Lien Named NSIC North Division Player of the Week

Minnesota State University Moorhead senior Aaron Lien has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division Player of the Week for a third time this season, the league announced on Monday.

The Moorhead, Minn., native had an outstanding weekend in helping MSUM to a pair of key home wins. He averaged 24.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game for the Dragons.  He shot a blistering 70 percent (14-of-20) from the field, including 55.6 percent (5-of-9) from three-point range.  Lien shot 93.8 percent (15-of-16) from the foul line.

Lien had 21 points in an 85-63 win over Winona State on Friday and followed with 24 points in a 93-85 win over Upper Iowa the next night. The two wins helped MSUM maintain a one-game lead in the NSIC standings over Northern State and Southwest Minnesota State.

The Dragons host Bemidji State on Friday at 8 p.m.
