THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. — Moorhead’s boys hockey team is going back to the state tournament for the first time since 2013 after shutting out Roseau in the Section 8AA title game.

The Spuds won all three section tournament games in shutout fashion, taking out RogersĀ 6-0 in the first round before wiping out Brainerd 5-0.

Matt Herbranson netted two goals for the Spuds, while Carter Randklev added a pair of assists. Lance Leonard made 18 saves in the shutout.
