Race Season Opens up in Fargo Friday

Red River Valley Speedway season opener on Friday.

WEST FARGO, N.D. — Racing season returns to Fargo on Friday. The Red River Valley Speedway was supposed to open last weekend, but mother nature didn’t exactly cooperate with snowfall.

All signs are a “Go” for tomorrow. Fans can see five different divisions tomorrow at the red river valley speedway including: hobby stocks, sport mods and modifieds.

“We did a lot of dirt work in the fall which helped tremendously now,” Competition Director Nick Skalicky said. “We don’t have the time before the season started dealing with mother nature so that was a pretty smart move on Jake and Bruce’s part to do all that work in the fall. Now we’re a little bit farther ahead but we’ll be 100 percent ready come Friday night.”

The grandstands open at 5:30 and you can catch all the action in the season opener with races starting at 7 p.M.
