Pfannenstein threw a complete-game shutout against Western Illinois Saturday

FARGO, N.D. — North Dakota State pitcher Reed Pfannenstein threw a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits against Western Illinois in Saturday’s 8-0 win, earning him Summit League Pitcher of the Week recognition.

The Leathernecks were not able to get any extra-base hits against Pfannenstein, and he walked three hitters in the contest while striking out four.

It is his second career Pitcher of the Week award in the conference and first this season.
