Artwork That Tells A Story With Every Little Detail

Artist, Kristi Abbott, Shows Off Her Collage Art That Tells Stories About Our Region

FARGO, ND — Many unique artists are displaying their work at the Downtown Fargo Street Fair, including one who makes art specific to our area.

Kristi Abbot, the owner of Made by Kristi, is a mixed media collage artist.

Her work is primarily made from paper, all hand cut with scissors.

She tells stories through her pieces by incorporating a lot of hidden imagery that relates to the subject matter.

Abbot said she loves watching people’s reaction to her work.

“What I love is the look on people’s faces when they see my artwork and they realize that it’s so full of hidden imagery. There’s this kind of light that switches on in them and that to me as an artist is really cool,” Abbot said.

Some of her art pieces specific to our region include art of Prince, the Bison, and the fighting hawks.

Abbot was also the artist who designed this year’s Downtown Fargo Street Fair official t-shirt.
