Fargo Cass Public Health Hosts Take Back Tuesday

They want to remind everyone to properly dispose of their prescription medication to fight opioid addiction

FARGO, ND — The red bin is back at Fargo Cass Public Health for prescription drug Take Back Tuesday.

They want to remind everyone to properly dispose of their prescription medication to fight opioid addiction.

Last time they held the event, 133 people dropped off 210 pounds of medication.

They say many patients with old or unused prescriptions have had it stolen from them by someone close to them.

“We talk about Lock, Monitor and Take Back,” said Fargo Cass Health Officer Dr. John Baird. “Lock up medications so they’re safe, so that you use them, but no one else.
Monitor them so no one else can get into them. When you’re done with them or you have leftover medications, get rid of them.”

If you missed this event but still want to drop off drugs, he says every police station in North Dakota does take backs all year round.
