Senator Heitkamp Speaks Out on Health Care Vote
Heitkamp posted videos online of North Dakotans against the Republican health care bill
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Minnesota Senators Al Fraken and Amy Klobuchar and North Dakota’s Democratic U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp voted against the procedural motion.
Republican Senator John Hoeven voted for it saying “we will continue working to put in place a suitable replacement”.
Heitkamp posted videos online of North Dakotans against the Republican health care bill, including a West Fargo woman talking about her daughter.
“Alison may not be able to get an insurance policy if insurance companies are allowed to deny coverage based on that pre-existing condition.”
Senator Heitkamp tweeted, quote, “I can’t support the Republican health care bill because I care too much about North Dakotans”.
She says the bill would take away health care from 23 million Americans by 2026 and hurt rural communities like those across North Dakota.
