Chuck E. Cheese Tokens Becoming a Problem for Massachusetts Library

The library staff says their bookkeeper counted three tokens before realizing it wasn't actual money

DANVERS, Mass. — It may be the place where a kid can be a kid, but a library in Massachusetts is not amused.

The Peabody Institute Library in the city of Danvers posted on Facebook, asking library patrons to stop paying their fines with Chuck E. Cheese tokens.

The library staff says their bookkeeper counted three tokens before realizing it wasn’t actual money.

It is important to note that the pizza fun zone with live music (performed, of course, by the animatronic gang) is phasing out tokens in favor of reloadable cards.
