NDSU FB Emphasizing Pressure on Tough SDSU Offense

The Jackrabbits are 4th in the FCS with 40.1 points per game

North Dakota State has its second rivalry game in a row this weekend.

After taking down Northern Iowa, South Dakota State is next on the docket as the teams duke it out for the Dakota Marker.

SDSU quarterback Taryn Christion recorded 444 all-purpose yards against the Bison a year ago as the Jackrabbits came from behind for a 19-17 win.

That was in the regular season. In the postseason, he was limited to just 139 all-purpose yards and the bison won 36-to-10.

NDSU is game-planning around keeping the pressure on Christion in this matchup and making him feel uncomfortable.

It is something the bison have had success with already this season.

“We want to try and get as much pressure as we can on this quarterback,” senior linebacker Nick DeLuca said. “Going off of these last few weeks, we’ve done a great job with that, and we’ve really made that a focus. So, continuing to make plays and get in the backfield and mess with his timing, that’s our goal.”
