FARGO, ND — A store in West Acres has announced it is closing.

The owner of Shu by R&G, formerly known as R&G Shoes, says he is retiring and closing the store he opened in 1995.

It is one of West Acres’ first stores to open in the mall.

Before that, R&G Bootery first opened in downtown Fargo in 1918.

The owner says his daughter runs Shu Global Footwear in St. Paul.

The store will be closed this Saturday until Wednesday of next week to prepare for its final sales.
