NDSU MBB Coach Richman Pleased with Team’s Defensive Improvement

The Bison held Missouri State to 1-for-17 3-pt shooting

FARGO, N.D. — North Dakota State men’s basketball only came away with one win on its season-opening three-game roadstand. But, the team has shown improvement in each game.

Bison head coach Dave Richman is putting a lot of emphasis on defense this season, and his team shut down Missouri State from 3-pt range.

The Bears 1-for-17 from beyond the perimeter on Friday.

“It was very encouraging,” Richman said. “We’ve spent a ton of time on defense this fall, and that really paid off in a hard-fought victory, and now the next challenge is to not make that the highlight of our season but to build on that going forward.”

The Bison have their first home game of the season on Wednesday against Florida A&M. Tip off is at 7:00 p.m.
