Traveling This Thanksgiving? Don’t Let the Germs Travel With You

Will all of those people moving about, especially during flu season, how do you keep yourself protected from the spreading of germs?

NATIONAL — Nearly 29 million people will take to the skies between now and November 28th, making it the busiest travel period of the year.

Will all of those people moving about, especially during flu season, how do you keep yourself protected from the spreading of germs?

Health experts suggest sitting toward the front of the airplane because air ventilation systems on most commercial aircraft will have better air flow there.

EPA officials say water tanks of airplanes are not always the most sanitary so you should avoid drinking coffee or tea.

Microbiologists say an airplane toilet has the potential to have the most germs so either go before you board, or try to avoid it.

Health experts also suggest washing or sanitizing your hands after using the escalator and ATM.
