Woman Identified in Fatal House Fire in Alexandria

The investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. — Authorities have identified the woman who died in a house fire in Alexandria on Monday.

Shandiin Goodbird, 19, died after a fire broke out at a house on the 400 block of Fillmore.

Goodbird had originally been labeled as missing, but was found after the fire was put out.

A preliminary autopsy report shows Goodbird died of smoke inhalation.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.

Goodbird is the third person to die in a house fire this year in Alexandria.
