MSUM FB Embracing the Extra Prep Time Before Bowl Game
MSUM Plays Missouri S&T on Saturday
MOORHEAD, Minn. — MSU-Moorhead heads to Excelsior Springs, Missouri to play in the Mineral Water Bowl on Saturday. Since their bowl-clinching win over St. Cloud State on November 10, the team has a little bit more time than usual preparing for Missouri S&T.
The three weeks have been helpful for the Dragons. The time off allowed for the team to rest and delve deeper into an opponent they’ve never played, which they say could be an advantage come game time.
“It is interesting that you have time and you are able to go more through things with a fine tooth comb. You’re able to practice some more things,” head coach Steve Laqua said. “I think there’s a lot more wrinkles you have to prepare for and a lot more ways you can get prepared. That means going into the game you have more chess pieces moving around and moving faster.”
“It gives us a little more time to work on what we need to get done. What we need to get better at,” wide receiver Jack Richter said. “Get down to more of the individual aspects of it with the receivers for me as well as every other position group.”
The Dragons leave for Excelsior Springs, Missouri tomorrow by bus.
