NDSU Staff and Faculty Apply for Voluntary Buyout Program

The limited-time Voluntary Separation Incentive Program was offered in late November.

FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – NDSU has received 69 applications for employee buyouts. 39 are faculty. 30 are staff.

The limited-time Voluntary Separation Incentive Program was offered in late November.

The buyouts, also offered at UND, are the result of budget trimming.

According to NDSU, the program provides eligible employees with incentive compensation based on their annual base salary and completed years of service.

Laura McDaniel, NDSU’s Associate Vice President for University Relations says a determination of who will be included in the early employee buyouts will be in May.

In a similar program offered in 2017, 55 buyout’s were approved. UND announced last month it received 98 applications. 22 came from faculty. The remaining were staff.
