Hector Sets Records Even During More Complaints About Delays And Luggage

FARGO, ND — Hector International Airport in Fargo continues to set records even with the bad winter weather and long delays.

Airport Authority Executive Director Shawn Dobberstein says there were 37,000 passengers in January.

That is an all-time record going back to 1931 when airline service started in Fargo.

March was the third busiest March in the history of the airport.

Dobberstein says delayed flights and long delays in baggage pickup leading to passenger complaints on social media were not the fault of the airport.

Delta Global Services, the company that provided operational services to airlines, was sold and many of the original employees quit.

Dobberstein says a contractor has brought in a number of temporary workers from around the country to fill in the gaps until new employees are hired.
