Super Bowl Sunday: Wendy’s Unbelievable Journey

She has gone through not one but two leg amputations in the past year and a half.

ROSEAU, Minn. — To say Wendy Lee of rural Badger, Minnesota is one tough survivor is almost an understatement.

Wendy is staying at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau and working to gain upper body strength so she can once again stand on her own.

She has gone through not one but two leg amputations in the past year and a half.

Wendy works hard during twice-daily rehab sessions to build up her strength.

It’s a chore for her just to get dressed and out of bed.

But through it all she is keeping a positive attitude and outlook on life.

“I said it is what it is and it’ll be good either way because you don’t know if you’re going to make it through surgery,” said Wendy.

“It’ll be good if I make it through surgery and it’ll be good if I don’t because I know where I’m going to go and I’m fine with that.”

What caused Wendy to lose both of her legs?
