People Remember Grantley Johnson with Pictures & Sports Mementos at Memorial

His courageous battle inspired many people across the metro.

WEST FARGO, N.D. – People are paying their last respects to a young West Fargo boy who lost his second battle with cancer last week.

Visitation was held Monday night at West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center in West Fargo for seven-year-old Grantley Johnson. The center was filled with pictures, signed jerseys and sport memorabilia given to the Freedom Elementary 2nd grader during his cancer fight.

His courageous battle inspired many people across the metro, the entire region and the country.

Condolences have poured in from hockey leagues including the team in Minot where Grantley was made an honorary captain.

The last two years of Grantley’s life involved a lot of time spent at Sanford Children’s hospital. That is why the family suggested memorials to the hospital instead of flowers.
