LIVE: Sandbag Central Begins

Fargo And Cass County Hope To Fill 400,000 Sandbags By Friday To Prepare For Spring Flooding

Sandbag Central is up and running.

Volunteers started filling bags at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The City of Fargo and Cass County want to fill 400,000 sandbags by this Friday. That’s 100,000 per day.

They’re running operations out of the Fargo Solid Waste Division at 2301 8th Avenue North in Fargo.

They need 200 volunteers per shift to run two Spider sandbag machines at full capacity.

The sandbags each weigh about 35 pounds, but they can use you even if you can’t lift that much.

That’s where they need your help. Sandbagging runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
