FARGO, N.D.–The Blue Cross Blue Shield North Dakota Caring Foundation has donated $25,000 to the Great Plains Food Bank.

Additionally, representatives from Blue Cross Blue Shield spent time volunteering inside the Great Plains Food Bank warehouse during the pandemic as a way to give back to the community.

Great Plains Food Bank President Melissa Sobolik said, “When COVID-19 hit North Dakota, BCBSND Caring Foundation immediately reached out, asking what they could do to help. This incredibly generous gift allows us to ensure no family goes hungry during the pandemic. We can’t thank them enough for their early support and unwavering dedication to help end hunger.”

The donation will help meet the Great Plains Food Bank’s estimated $12 million response to increased demand amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
