County Officials: Possible Meteor In Beltrami County Captured on Video

BELTRAMI CO., Minn. (KVRR) — A possible meteor sighting over Beltrami County.

This video was provided to the Beltrami County Emergency Communications Center.

That was recorded around 6:40 tonight in the Nymore neighborhood of Bemidji.

A very bright white/blue flash over the sky was followed by a loud explosion which was heard across much of southern Beltrami County.

Numerous people reported it.

Beltrami County Public Information Officer Christopher Muller said he also heard it and it shook windows, walls and rattled dishes.

He says his dog who was outside at the time about broke the door down trying to get in.

He says they can only speculate it was a meteor and will follow up with other agencies and offices tomorrow.

Muller says unless there is some type of significant evidence or discovery, there will be no further updates from our office.
