FARGO (KVRR) – Polls are open in Fargo on Tuesday to decide whether to remodel and expand the Fargodome.

The city-run election runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at three polling locations; the Fargodome, Fargo Civic Center and Ramada Inn.

The one-issue ballot is asking for the Home Rule Charter to be amended to establish a one-quarter of one percent sales tax along with a 3% lodging tax.

The proposal needs 60% approval to pass and the taxes would continue for 20 years.

The $140 million project includes a 90,000 square-foot convention center connected to the Fargodome.
