West Fargo teen partners with local businesses to help feed the community

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – When she was 4-years-old, Gowri Pillai saw a woman sitting on a bucket.

She asked her parents if they could give her food and the fund began.

Bobcat, CrossFit Fargo and Move Chiropractic are just a few of the local companies who have donated to the Drive.

Last year, the food drive raised $5,541 in funds and collected 1,442 lbs. of food for the Great Plains Food Bank.

“The Drive started since I was four years old and it’s grown every year with more and more community members. We ask our family and friends to join and help us.” said Pillai.

One out of 10 children in North Dakota face food insecurity.
