Cass County Electric Dealing With Widespread Power Outages During Ice Storm

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Cass County Electric Cooperative continues working to restore power after well over 150 outages were reported.

Here is a look at the outage map for the co-op around 3 Tuesday afternoon.

Several thousand members have been impacted by outages with the rural service areas hosting the bulk of the problems.

Cass County Electric has contacted several rural electric cooperatives in the state to request mutual aid.

Help will arrive tomorrow from Roughrider Electric, Mckenzie Electric and Burke-Divide Electric Cooperatives.

They are dealing with an estimated 100 downed power poles, many wire breaks and areas where tree branches have fallen onto power lines.

They are advising members to check their generators and fuel sources in case this event becomes extended due to weather and ongoing system damage.
