Two Men Are Safe After ATV Goes Through Ice on Upper Red Lake

BELTRAMI CO., Minn. (KVRR) — Two men are safe after falling through the ice on an ATV on Upper Red Lake.
Beltrami County dispatch received a call from the fishermen around 7:30 this morning.
They said they were able to get out of the water but were stranded on the ice and unable to make it back to their resort.
As first responders arrived, the men had made it back to the resort, wet and cold but not injured.
The ATV will be removed as soon as the ice strengthens.
Beltrami authorities say many ice houses across the region are falling through the ice and they are not able to be removed since the ice is too weak.
