Jamestown-area couple uses generator to provide hot meal for repair crews

JAMESTOWN, N.D., (KVRR)- A Jamestown-area couple who lost power in last month’s freezing rainstorm used their generator to make food for repair crews.

Tim and Joanne Geinert  from Jamestown had lost power for more than seven days. They had a generator.

So when they saw power crews working near them, they prepared hot soup, bread, and cheese for the workers.

The couple says the power crews had been working for a long time and wanted to show them how thankful they were for their hard work. Joanna Geinert said, “What Dakota Valley Electric has done and all these people who have come from hundreds of miles to help us, it’s a gift from god and we appreciate it a lot.”

They say they were excited to feed the workers and their power came back on shortly after.
