Jason Anderson Promoted To Assistant Police Chief in West Fargo

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — West Fargo has a new assistant chief of police and his name is Jason Anderson.
Anderson has been with the department since 1998 and is being promoted from the rank of patrol commander.
Police Chief Pete Nielsen said, “The West Fargo Police Department began an internal process to identify interested candidates.
Anderson was selected based on his experience, commitment to the department and outstanding service to our community.
His years of leadership experience make him an outstanding candidate for the Assistant Chief of Police.”
Anderson has served many roles and had a few firsts with the department including being the first school resource officer for West Fargo Public Schools and first bike patrol officers.
He has received two Lifesaving Awards, a Commendable Service Award and an Active Shooter Response Ribbon along with the Chief’s Medal in 2022.
The Barnesville native holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Bemidji State University and graduated from the Hibbing Technical College Peace Officer Academy.
