Wahpeton Man Pleads Not Guilty In Fatal Hit-and-Run

WAHPETON, N.D. (KVRR) — The Wahpeton man accused in a fatal hit-and-run in October has entered not guilty pleas in court.

53-year-old Chad Olson on Monday pleaded not guilty to criminal vehicular homicide and duty in accident involving death.

Olson is accused of being behind the wheel when 20-year-old Bailey Bernstein was hit while walking with her mom in Wahpeton.

Her mom was able to provide a description of the pickup and a tip from the public led police to a house in Wahpeton where Olson was arrested.

Bernstein later died of her injuries at Sanford Medical Center.

Olson’s next court appearance has not been set.
