FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – You can help carry on the tradition of sticking it to cancer here North Dakota and Minnesota.
The 14th annual Stick it to Cancer fundraiser is this Tuesday. There will be 3 high school hockey games at Scheels Arena, along with a silent auction and bake sale. All proceeds go to Lend a Hand Up and will be used to help families deal with the expenses that come with battling cancer.
Last year’s event raised a record $45,000.
Since 2010, the cause has grown around the region, with teams coming from as far away as Devils Lake to take part in the cancer-fighting tournament.
Event volunteer Stephanie Astrup says, “It’s more than just grown here. I think it’s a name that people recognize, and I want that to get out to recognize Lend a Hand Up. What we do is 100% for them and they give back to our community. So it means a ton.”
Stick it to Cancer has raised more than $600,000 since 2010. Click here for all the details on the event.
