LIVE: Getting Ready To Freeze To Raise Awareness For Homeless Veterans

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Veterans are prepared to be Freez’n for a Reason as part of this year’s Frostival. The FM Legion Riders will spend 48 hours living and sleeping outside in the elements for the 4th straight year.

This year’s Freez’n for a Reason starts at 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 2nd at the Moorhead American Legion and goes until 4:00 p.m. on the 4th.

There will be celebrations throughout the weekend for anyone to take part in while staying warm.

Proceeds from this year’s event go to The Honor Flight of North Dakota/Minnesota and Golden Drive Homeless Kids.
They’re also sleeping outside to raise awareness of veterans experiencing homelessness in our region.

FM Legion Riders Assistant Director Marc Simonet says, “That is one of the reasons we actually stay outside in the tents. It’s as a symbol for our veterans and it helps us raise money to help out our homeless veterans.”
