FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Demolition of the South Plaza Shopping Center along South University Drive in Fargo is underway.

The 1950s era center is being replaced with a mixed-use facility.

The aging strip mall and every house on the block will be removed for the new development.

The BLOC project will include nearly 130 new apartments and over 15,000 square feet of retail space.

Longtime tenant Duane’s House of Pizza has said they plan to re-open in the new location.

The project is expected to cost over $30 million and be finished by this summer.
