Fatally injured puppy left outside Moorhead fire station; police asking for assistance

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — Moorhead Police are looking for information on an injured puppy that was left outside a fire station.

The puppy, which was inside of a kennel, was abandoned at the back side of South Moorhead Fire Station on Sunday morning.

Police say it was very lethargic, had obvious trauma to its head and appeared in distress.

Lt. Deric Swenson says the male puppy was estimated to be around 4 months old.

Veterinary staff determined it was beyond treatment and was euthanized.
