Two People OK After Pickup Goes Through the Ice on Union Lake Near Erskine, MN

POLK CO., Minn. (KVRR) — A pickup has gone through the ice on Union Lake in Polk County, south of Erskine.

The sheriff’s office says it happened just before 4 p.m. in an area known as the narrows, where there is only 5 inches of ice.

The two people inside the pickup were able to get out but the vehicle is still submerged in the lake.

No injuries are reported.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office warns the community of unpredictable and changing ice conditions with the recent warm weather.
