Fargo Fire responds to fire at homeless encampment by the Red River

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Fargo Fire was called out to a fire at a homeless encampment near Veterans Memorial Bridge around 6:50 this morning.

The crews were able to use long reaching equipment to knock down the fire near the river.

According to department, there were several campfires in the encampment and were unattended which led to the fire.

Nobody was in the area when crews got to the scene.

Fargo Fire says there can be challenges responding to fires not connected to the roadways, but thanks to their equipment they were able to knock the fire out.

There were no reports of injuries.
