Moorhead Man Sentenced For Hostage Incident in Fargo Last February

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A Moorhead man is sentenced to eight years behind bars for holding a woman hostage in Fargo last February.
In court on Monday, Hector Flores changed his plea to guilty to a number of charges including felonious restraint, fleeing a peace officer and domestic violence.
Flores got 3 years on a criminal mischief charge and was ordered to pay restitution of nearly $6,700 for damage he caused at Bison Inn & Suites.
In the February 2023 incident, Flores refused officers commands while a female passenger was screaming and trying to get out of his vehicle.
He claimed he had a gun and had the woman in a chokehold.
Officers used a taser to subdue him and didn’t find a gun.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
