$12.8 Million Contract Awarded For Oxbow, Hickson and Bakke Ring Levee

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A contract has been awarded to build a ring levee to protect the people of Oxbow, Hickson and Bakke from flood waters.
It’s part of the larger $3.2 billion FM Flood Diversion project.
The $12.8 million contract for the levee was awarded to Hendrickson Transportation of Hamburg, Iowa.
It will protect the towns from the risk of flooding during an event in which the project would operate.
The communities are located in the upstream staging area of the diversion, and this is the final phase of construction.
The project will begin as soon as weather allows, and should be wrapped up in early 2025.
The Corps is working in partnership on this project with the cities of Fargo and Moorhead and the Metro Flood Diversion Authority.
