Funding Approved For New Ag Policy Research Center at NDSU

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota State University is getting a new agriculture policy research center.
Two million dollars for the center was included in the 2024 Agriculture Appropriations Bill which passed the Senate on Friday by a vote of 72 to 22.
It previously passed in the House.
It will help address farm and agribusiness challenges through in-depth policy and economic analysis.
The bill also includes over $50 million in ag research funding for North Dakota.
That research will take place at NDSU and across the state.
:”Really puts North Dakota State University at the forefront for agriculture in America and is vitally important for farmers and ranchers in North Dakota as well as across the country,” said North Dakota U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, lead Republican of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee.
The new legislation also includes $3 million for renovations at the ARS Edward T. Schafer Agricultural Research Center in Fargo.
